Vegvisir Compass Dangles

Note about backing options:  Available as Hooks, Clip Ons or Brooch.  For the Brooch, you will receive 1 earring which will be converted using a pin instead of earring hardware. 

All of our earrings include hypoallergenic hardware.  If you have extra sensitive ears, you can upgrade to 925 sterling silver in the backing options. 

Laser cut and engraved Vegvisir earrings, made from walnut wood. Vegvisir is believed to be a magical compass. The only mention of it in history is in the Huld manuscript. The manuscript says, “If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known.”

The runes around it are the entire Elder Futhark. The Elder Futhark is the oldest runic alphabet and was used from about 160AD to 700AD.

These lightweight earrings measured 1.75 inches long, not counting the hooks.
